Hacienda Muñoz in San Lorenzo is home to Café Hacienda Muñoz. A specialty coffee winner for three consecutive years of first place in the Best Coffee People’s Choice Award at the Coffee and Chocolate Expo 2016-2017, 2018, and 2019. During your visit to the farm you can enjoy our tour in which you will learn about the history of coffee until it reaches the cup. We're located in Carr 181 km 37 Bo Quebrada San Lorenzo PR 00754.
The tour consists of a guided walk inside the coffee plantation where you will learn about the history of coffee from its discovery until it reaches the cup. You will be able to appreciate the coffee plants and the machinery that is used, culminating in a small tasting.
Each tour lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes completely walking through the hacienda. Comfortable clothes and shoes, sunscreen, and hats are recommended for the activity. It is suggested to arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of the tour to start the payment and organization process. As payment method we accept cash and credit cards. We work on a first-come, first-served basis, no reservation is necessary. The payment is made at the cash register of Doppio Coffee Bar, our coffee shop from where the group will leave to start the tour.
The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children between 6 - 12 years old and people over 60, children 5 and under can participate for free. The tours are offered only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Spanish and English.
The hours are as follows:
Friday: 10am (English only), 12pm (Spanish), 2pm (Spanish).
Saturday: 10am (English only), 12pm (Spanish), 2pm (Spanish).
Sunday: 10am (English only), 12pm (Spanish), 2pm (Spanish).
This tour is not recommended for people in wheelchairs, with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, respiratory, or orthopedic conditions, including joint injuries or disease, or any other serious medical condition. Visitors should consider their physical condition and medical history when determining whether this tour is suitable.
