Coffee Tour in Hacienda Muñoz

Hacienda Muñoz in San Lorenzo Puerto Rico is home to Café Hacienda Muñoz, a specialty coffee brand that earned first place in the Best Coffee People’s Choice Award at the Coffee and Chocolate Expo for three consecutive years (2016–2017, 2018, and 2019). During your visit to the farm, you can enjoy our guided tour, where you’ll learn about the history of coffee from its origins to the moment it reaches your cup. We're located in Carr 181 km 37 Bo Quebrada San Lorenzo PR 00754.

What does the tour include?

This 75-minute guided walking tour of the coffee plantation takes you through the fascinating history of coffee, from its discovery to your cup. You’ll see coffee plants up close, learn about the machinery used in production, and enjoy a small tasting at the end.

Recommendations 

To make the most of your tour, please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and don’t forget to bring sunscreen and a hat. We recommend arriving 30–45 minutes before the tour starts to complete payment (cash and credit cards accepted) and check in.

Payment is processed at the register inside the Hacienda Muñoz Store, the tour’s departure point. Tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so there’s no need to book in advance.

The cost of the tour is:

  • $20.00 for adults plus tax
  • $10.00 for children ( 6 - 12 years old ) plus tax
  • $10.00 for seniors ( 60 years old + ) plus tax 
  • Children five and under can participate free of charge.

Tours are available in Spanish and English on weekends only (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). We are not offering private tours at this time.

The hours are as follows:

  • Friday: 10am (English only), 12pm (Spanish), 2pm (Spanish).
  • Saturday: 10am (English only), 12pm (Spanish), 2pm (Spanish).
  • Sunday: 10am (English only), 12pm (Spanish), 2pm (Spanish).

For everyone’s safety, our coffee plantation can only be visited with one of our tour guides. We don’t offer self-guided tours at the moment. Please note that due to the hills and uneven paths, the trail isn’t suitable for baby strollers or wheelchairs.

For our non-local visitors without rental cars, it is important to know that finding an Uber or taxi in our area is often difficult and expensive. Because there is no public transportation available, we recommend contacting a private transport company or arranging a guaranteed ride with an Uber or taxi driver before your visit.

This tour includes some physical activity and might not be suitable for everyone. If you have mobility challenges (including wheelchair use), heart, respiratory, or orthopedic conditions, or any other serious medical concerns, we recommend considering whether this experience is right for you. Please take a moment to assess your health and comfort level before joining the tour. Occasionally, tours may be canceled due to weather conditions such as rain or extreme heat.
